Edward Adam's passion for history began when he was very young and found much joy spending time in the Caruthersville Library reading about historical times and architecture design. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration yet retained his zeal for far away places. Read More
Being exposed to history early on—my wonderful parents always made a point to take me to places like Williamsburg, Boston, and Mount Vernon—and studying art history and archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis led me to become enamored with the Missouri History Museum and its wonderful exhibits (and gift shop, too!). "I'm a fifth-generation St. Louisan," Chouteau Society member Sally Lefler states proudly. She traces her St. Louis heritage back to English and German immigrant ancestors who were entrepreneurs in manufacturing and leather processing as part of the fur trade. Sally says her visits to the Missouri History Museum as a child led to her decision to study history and political science. Read More
